New Year's Resolutions

With the new year right around the corner, resolutions have been the main topic on almost everyone's minds. I've been working out how to write this post for several days now, and it's been really hard for me to figure out what to say. To me, there isn't very much information to share about writing the resolutions themselves. Most of the information I've found has been about making them last more than the first few weeks of the new year, and other resolutions that people have made.
Being the lady that I am, I decided to copy other people. Now, that sounds a lot worse than it actually is! My plan was to look at other people's resolutions and morph them into similar ones that fit me and what I want to accomplish in the new year. Which, for me, was very effective.
I found one image in particular, and I can't remember where I found it or who it was originally from, but I figured that by including the image it's self that you guys would be able to figure it out by yourselves (And maybe clue me in too) that was everything I was looking for.

I love all of those! However, not all of them are goals that I feel I need to have in the new year. So, after lots of thinking, I slimmed down all of those to three of the four resolutions that I'm going to have in the new year.

Resolution 1: Write about everything - including the stories that pop up in my head, fictional or not

Resolution 2: Rediscover what it's like to record memories in photos

Resolution 3: Develop my confidence so that I'm not afraid to say no or to share my ideas with the world because I deserve to be confident. (This one ties in with the whole "not caring what anyone thinks" and "appreciating every square inch of my body")

Resolution 4: To beat every level and complete every requirement in Super Mario 3D Land on Nintendo 3DS.

Now, I know what you're thinking! "Why the heck is that Fourth one on there!?" Well, like I said in my last post, I'm hopeless when it comes to technology! So bad that I can't even explain my problems when people try to help me because I don't know what's going wrong. My boyfriend gave me that game for my birthday, and he's convinced that I'll be able to do it. I made it one of my resolutions because it's something I want to accomplish! Proving to myself that I can do things that are hard for me. So far, I'm only on level two of the game.
The first two resolutions are (hopefully) what's going to make up this blog.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe New Year's! I hope you start out your 2015 on the right foot!

Calling Myself to Blog

As you may have noticed, I’m very new to blogging. I’ve always loved finding new blogs and getting all tucked away in my room for hours reading them. Blogs seem so mysterious to me for some reason, as if everyone who had a blog got one because of some magical call to action! Which is why, I think, I haven’t had a blog before now. I’ve always waited for the “Call to Blog” that would summon me into the magical world of writing for other people.
I’ve been keeping my very own journal since 2009. Well… I call it a journal, but it’s more like a story-filled scrapbook because I’ve filled it with pictures and papers and all manner of other things that make me happy. I’ve also written stories for myself and taken different writing and photography classes. Despite the classes, I still think that my writing and my photography need some serious help to improve!
As my boyfriend will tell you, I’ve been thinking about starting my own blog since around this time last year, when I’d discovered people like Zoella and Ellie Jayden who had amazing blogs alongside their youtube channels, which I also love. However, I’m not going to be starting a youtube channel anytime soon! My boyfriend is very supportive of everything I want to do, and I’m not just saying that because he reads this! I’m absolutely helpless when it comes to technology, so he’s being my tech support when I need him to be with this blog.
Now, moving right along, I bet you’re asking yourself if I finally did get the glorious “call to blog” that I was talking about before. I didn’t. Well… At least not in the way I thought I needed to be. I decided that I was going to call myself to blog because blogging is something worthwhile that I want to do. To me, it became clear that if I wanted to have one and that my desire was a strong enough call to do so! I’m not entirely sure what I want to post about, or who I want to post to, but I’ll figure that out as I go!
For my own personal reasons, I’m keeping this blog anonymous for the time being. I might give a name later on, but for the moment I’m going to keep myself a secret so that I can be myself. Did that make any sense at all? Oh well! Welcome to my blog :) I hope you stick around for a while.

Merry Christmas!

I regret to inform you all that I did not find the pickle ornament on my family’s tree... Once again, my brother was  triumphant at locating the elusive glass pickle.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Or whatever other holidays there are that you might celebrate! I’m sad to say that I must live under a rock, because I’m not well versed in the names of other holidays that are celebrated at this time of year. However, I’d be happy to learn about them!

With Christmas being tomorrow, I've been thinking about all of the different traditions that different people have. My family has this weird tradition where "Santa" will hide a pickle ornament on our Tree, and whoever finds it Christmas Morning gets an extra, unmarked present (that's usually candy). "Santa" tries to make it fair for my brothers and I, with the hopes that we'll all have an equal chance at finding it. However, one of my brothers is crazy observant and somehow manages to find it every year! Even though my efforts seem futile, I'm going to try and find it first anyway!

Do you guys have any family traditions? Let me know in the comments below!
