Finding Friends (Blogger Friends)

One of my favorite bloggers of all time is Zoe Sugg (Zoella), and for a really long time she's been someone I've really looked up to. It's so inspiring to me that she started out with a blog sitting in her room back in 2009.

I don't think I'll ever get to that point with this blog, and I won't be upset if that is the case, but I've more recently been taking a lot of her blogging advice to heart. One of Zoe's biggest tips is to reach out to other bloggers and comment genuine comments on their posts as yourself.

This blog is a little over 2 years old now! For those 2 years, I was focused on creating content and learning how to effectively run this blog in a way that I'm happy with. Back around Christmas, I decided that I was finally going to reach out to other bloggers whose blogs I like, and take the time to comment on their posts and read their content.

For some reason, I had a hard time finding other blogs to be able to read them. When you google search for blogs, the ones that pop up are already well established and have thousands of readers. In order to find bloggers that I was looking for, who I would be able to make more a personal connection with, I went into the comments sections on those established blogs. People really frequently link their own blog in their comments so that people can check them out, which is exactly what I did!

I think one of the main things I was going for in doing this was creating a sense of community. I wanted to befriend other bloggers like me - be able to enjoy their content and (hopefully) have them enjoy mine as well.

Now that I've been finding and reading and commenting on blogs for about a month now, I wanted to share some of the blogs that I've really been enjoying!

  1. Thank you so much for mentioning my blog, and I will definitely enjoy reading these linked blogs! Another blog I have been enjoying at the moment is!

  2. So very true! A lot of people on many platforms simply use the success of others (however big or small) as an opportunity for self-promotion, which is ok if they also make the effort to appreciate the work that someone else has done, but not so good if it's just a link drop and run situation! I love looking at the genuine comments of others. Thanks for the blog links!

    1. Exactly! Leaving genuine comments is more fun as well :) You'll have to let me know what you think about the blogs that I linked some time!

  3. Thank you so much for mentioning my blog, I'll be definitely checking out some of the others! Xx

    1. Thank you for writing great content! And for commenting :)
